Planners in the Urban Atelier network. Planning projects are complex and often require the skills of multidisciplinary teams to take on the most difficult challenges faced by cities and towns. We will bring in expertise required to deliver high-quality products that recognize unique community conditions and work to improve livelihoods through planning and policy.

Sky Tallman

Sky Tallman is the principal consultant with Urban Atelier. He has been the land use director for Huerfano County, Colorado, the planning director for City of Trinidad, Colorado, and an urban planner for the New Mexico Department of Transportation. He has experience with all aspects of land use and zoning, Complete Streets, active transportation planning, climate change policy, air quality, and federal grant management. Prior to working in planning, Sky was a history teacher and received a master’s in liberal arts from St. John’s College.

Marinda Griffin

Marinda Griffin is a geographer with a background working in demographic and market research in commercial real estate, practice in economic development and urban planning, and has worked on environmental conservation projects with the Army Corp of Engineers and Texas Parks and Wildlife, along with planning and permitting initiatives for the North Central Texas Council of Governments and the California Coastal Commission. She also won a cultural research award for her thesis on place-making in the context of a community agriculture program.

Electra Johnson

Electra Johnson is an architect and planner with over 20 years of experience in transportation-oriented development, architectural design and rural development projects. Electra has a firm, Electra Johnson Design and Planning, http://www.electrajohnson.org based out of Colorado Springs and has worked on commercial, residential and planning projects across the state.
